What happens if it rains on your wedding day. a guide to wedding day disasters.

The question of whether it will rain on your wedding day undoubtedly gets asked by every couple, and the answer usually from a well meaning mum or aunt is that it’s good luck.

It may be good luck, but that doesn’t answer what you need to do in case it rains.

This is even more detrimental if you are planning an outdoor ceremony and what about the photography.

Well the short answer to this and any other disasters that may happen on your special day is.

Things are not always going to go to plan, but just know that everything will turn out ok in the end. and it will.

I have worked on many weddings over the years and what strikes me the most is that no wedding, however meticulously planned ever goes exactly the way it’s suppose too. And like rain on your wedding day, it is most usually out of your control.

What i’ve noticed working on many weddings over the years is that no matter the problem. everyone comes together to make it work.

Wedding Rain

That includes all the vendors, the photographer and video, and the venue itself.

They have all seen enough weddings and most have ready made back-up plans ready to go in just that emergency.

If it does rain on your wedding day, The venue will have a back-up plan of having an indoor wedding somewhere on the premises.

The photographer should have checked the weather beforehand and put umbrellas in the car just in case.

And in case you are worried about the quality of images you’ll be able to get on the day. Rain makes for some of the most stunning wedding photography that i’ve seen.

You get these wonderful compositions of stormy backgrounds with droplets foreshadowing the focus of you as a couple in your stunning attire that you can’t just recreate.

This can even be enhanced with some simple props like umbrellas and boots for some fun.

So the key message to take away from this video is that, stuff happens precisely when you don’t need it too. But don’t let that get in the way of having the best day ever. People, your family, friends and even the people you hire are genuinely invested in making it the best day you could experience and it will offer solutions if something does happen.

You just need to go with it.
